Did You Know ...
• The first ReStore in the world was started in 1991 in Winnipeg, MB
• Currently there are 65 ReStores in Canada and over 750 in the USA
• Approx 67,000 tons of waste diverted from landfill since 1998 - 12,230 pounds of landfill were diverted in 2010 – across Canada!
• That the Barrie and Alliston ReStores diverted 350 Tons from our local landfills.

The ReStore is a retail outlet that sells recycled and new building materials, hardware, and appliances to the public at bargain prices.
Everything is donated and the profits go toward Habitat for Humanity’s homebuilding program restoring hope for low-income families.
ReStores also help reduce our environmental footprint by providing an opportunity to reuse materials that would otherwise end up in the landfill.
Bulky Item Collection
The City of Barrie and Habitat for Humanity-Huronia ReStore have partnered to provide a bulky item collection program in the City of Barrie. This program is extended to Barrie residents only and the charge for the service is $25 per item
Bulky items that are arranged to be picked up by ReStore must be put outside the home as ReStore staff cannot pick items up from inside the home. Once arrangements have been made through ReStore for the pick-up of bulky item(s), please place bulky items outside on your property, not onto City property such as boulevards, etc.
ReStore staff reserves the right to refuse items such as mattresses and other items that are unacceptable for the landfill.
Please note, no hazardous or liquid wastes are accepted in this program.
Please do not drop off any bulky items at the ReStore location.

A BIG Thanks to Toromont
A BIG Thank You needs to go out to the crew from Toromont. These fellas came into the Barrie store and "Just wanted to help!" They emptied trailers and just plain straightened out the store, giving us the valuable time to get other things done.

Volunteers are vital to our mission of raising money for Habitat for Humanity and diverting materials from our landfills. Volunteering at Habitat ReStores is fun and makes a difference to our community. We have shifts that can fit your busy schedule, for individuals or for your group.
