Habitat for Humanity is in the business of making decent homes affordable for people who may not otherwise be able to afford the costs associated with purchasing a new home.

Habitat houses are sold to partner families at no profit and financed with affordable loans. The homeowners' monthly mortgage payments go into a fund that is used to build more homes. The more homes that exist, the more cash flow there is available for further building. This "revolving fund for humanity" fuels exponential growth in the number of houses that are built over time.

Each Habitat family is required to meet certain criteria by filling out an application form. If selected, each family will be required to complete “Sweat Equity” - volunteer hours towards the building of their house and other volunteer activities. Arrangements can be made for friends and family to help earn the sweat equity hours for the partnering family.

The entire process of selecting a Family Partner could take up to 6 months. Upon selection it may take up to 2 years before a home is constructed.
