Pavliks .com announces the recipient of their $50,000 Tech Makeover
August 06, 2009
It is with great pride that we announce that Habitat for Humanity Huronia RESTORE is the winner of the $50,000 Tech Makeover presented by pavliks.com.
This year Pavliks.com turned 40 and to celebrate this great milestone and to give back to the community, pavliks.com announced a $50,000 Technology Makeover Contest. One lucky business owner in Simcoe County would receive $50,000 in
technology products and services.
The contest opened in April and allowed businesses located in Simcoe County to apply for the $50,000 prize. Applicants were required to answer questions about their business, why they need a technology makeover, and the benefits they would realize from the grand prize. Judges from Pavliks, Microsoft, HP, Georgian College and local businesses, narrowed the finalists down from 70 applications based on their need for a technology upgrade. The Barrie Literacy Council, Elizabeth Fry Society, Fine Hair Mechanical, Habitat for Humanity-Huronia ReStore and Norcab Kitchens all made the final cut.
We will now be able to pull the various facets of our organization together and make it easier to build homes for those who need them, says Reuben Orr, General Manager of the Barrie and Alliston Restores. In the past we have had issues in regards to keeping track of the volunteers, inventory, truck scheduling, you name it. This makeover will give us a much needed boost and make it easier to give back to the community. We are very excited about this announcement and would like to thank everyone for their support.
We hope to return the favour.
