Meet Jon, Farrah and James.
Jon works fulltime at Lowes in Barrie and has been employed there for over nine years. Farrah has been a stay at home mom since the birth of their son in 2014. Through the support of friends, they attended a Habitat Huronia family information night to learn more about being a partner family. This is their story.
We want to provide our two year old son with a house to call home. Rent is so high in this area we cannot afford to rent a house on one income. We decided to apply for a home with Habitat for Humanity because apartments were so expensive we couldn't afford one and we wanted to get out of basement apartments.
When we found out our first application was approved we were really excited! Four months later when we heard the final acceptance, we were in shock and overwhelmed! We just couldn’t believe we had been chosen for this opportunity to become the next Habitat family. We called all our family and friends to tell them our good news. Our dream to have our family in a safe and stable environment was coming true!
We are looking forward to moving out of our present environment and into our new home, where we can have a fenced in yard for our son, flower beds, vegetable garden and a place we will be proud to call home!
We are most grateful for this opportunity and we look forward to the hard work ahead! We can’t wait for the beginning of our new life! Thank you so very much!
