On June 5th. the Retail Council of Canada hosted the 2013 Excellence in Retailing Awards Gala dinner in Toronto as an evening to acknowledge and celebrate the past years successes of Canadian retailers. Habitat for Humanity Canada ReStores were the recipients of the Corporate and Social Responsibility Award.
This award recognizes a retailer-initiated program that demonstrates a creative response, active collaboration and successful fulfillment of community needs.
Habitat for Humanity Canada ReStore were not only honoured at the Excellence in Retailing Awards gala in front of industry leaders but will also will be featured in the Retail Council of Canada STORE edition of Canadian Retailer Magazine and on the Retail Council of Canada STORE website as a winner.
"It is a great honour to congratulate all of you on this award" said Rob Voisin, Director, of National ReStore and Product Services. "I wish you could have all been present to accept the award as it truly is a testament to the great work you are doing every day in your stores and in your communities". After accepting the award Voisin acknowledged, "This honor belongs to all of our affiliates operating ReStores, the staff and of course our donors and volunteers. This great award represents another step in the maturation process of our operations and increasing recognition level amongst our peers in the retail industry (judges for the awards were all retailers)".
